In response to the extended lockdown in NSW, the Federal Government has provided a significant boost to the previously announced JobSaver payment.
- Eligibility has been extended to businesses with an annual turnover of up to $250 million (increased from $50 million), which have experienced a revenue decline of 30 percent of more.
- The maximum weekly payment has been increased to $100,000 (increased from $10,000), with payments calculated based on 40% of the weekly NSW payroll. To be eligible for the payment, businesses must maintain their employee headcount.
The new payments take effect from 18 July 2021, the date of the original JobSaver payment.
Applications should be made through Service NSW. Businesses that have already applied, are not required to apply again. Payments will be automatically adjusted to reflect the increased payment entitlements.
Non-employing businesses, sole traders, remain eligible for a maximum of $1,000 a week payment.
